that they should believe a lie

Recently there was an article on a popular website referencing a student about to graduate from a prominent Jesuit college, and he outlines how he was now an atheist mainly due to his religious studies curriculum,

From his brief description it was reasonably obvious he had never believed anything, rather he merely accepted what he was told all his life without question and then the first time he had to actually consider, God didn’t immediately conform to what the politically correct all-wise television mainstream media culture had molded into his psyche while he was growing up.

If it were only colleges producing these results,  however many mainstream denominations create listless believers by being nothing more than ‘good works’ social clubs.  While all of us have a spirit, these are asleep, neither have they received nor have they any knowledge beyond their natural existence.  They worship the creature rather than the creator and they believe the lie,

“And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12

Its always arrogance that blinds (any of) us from coming to a greater understanding, seeing only in the flesh while attempting to step above where everything around us relating to sin has become normalized.  The student author presented a smug ‘was blind and now he sees ‘ self  promoting egotistical enlightenment.  How could anyone within that environment ever hope to see with the spirit.  Many today have little to fall back on,  if they had never wondered themselves enough to seek the truth , never heard it from their parents or grandparents and relying on secular instruction alone , they will never find a witness or firm ground to stand, only the reverse,

“And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.” Mark 4:5-6

“For ever, O LORD, your word is settled in heaven.” Psalm 119:89

Satan knows the overall plan of redemption from what has been established in heaven, however he doesn’t know the details or exactly when but he does know enough to lay down a minefield in advance with doctrines and seducing spirits ruling over entire nations and peoples to set things off course, to empower cults and personalities,  to lead many from the truth even before the whole truth is presented, he knows enough to counterfeit many things from the throne room itself, from the design in ancient Egyptian and Babylonian Temples, to Mithra cults,  to the very plan of redemption outlined in the Heavens and established before the world was made, and to do it long before the fulness of time within the holy laws and ordinances were established on the Earth as a faith witness.  A witness empowering us toward that day when he would take it all upon himself to set its foundation in stone, and with us being met by the legitimate creator, our maker, the true King of Righteousness coming with the plan fully implemented in our time, which is always now.

“The stone which the builders rejected has become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvelous in our eyes” Psalm 118:22-23

“Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation: he that believes shall not be in haste.”  Isaiah 28:16

Nowhere in the Word does it argue for itself that God exists, its a given, we’re told that we should believe from the things that are:

“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: “ Romans 1:20

This is a spiritual deception, being blinded, seeing only in the flesh, the natural world, its nothing unique to our time,

I had a similar conversation several months back with a relative, it was about an online video of an atheist addressing the members of a church, apparently the misguided pastor brought him in as part of ‘understanding’ of divergent beliefs.  Jesus said,  let the dead bury the dead.

I said before we watched the presentation together, I suspect we’ll see certain lines he will not or cannot cross, these will be out of bounds, despite the supposed mutual tone of  ‘tolerance’ however everything else will generally be just fine, anything anti-christ is also fine,

Not unlike mainstream cults, atheists don’t want to hear about certain things,

  1. Do not tell them Jesus, the Son of the living God, has come in the flesh,
  2. Do not quote scripture,
  3. Do not tell them about end time events or prophecy, that is, don’t bring up what is occurring right now in current events as having been foretold in scripture, they will not hear it,

He was very well spoken, articulate, presented his case with all manner of worldly wisdom, easily made the pastor look foolish, but it was surprising how closely he evidenced these three items,  and when he did you could see his entire demeanor change, he was noticeably reticent, very unlike the rest of his (polished) presentation,

When someone rejects the truth, its always interesting to see what they later embrace, what they replace it with, what they ultimately take up with instead of the cross,

Why cant they perceive, discuss or accept prophecy? Because it is a witness here and now directly in front of us,  it cannot be denied, and it requires the spirit to fully see it, and for which they do not have and openly reject,  and hence they have no way of obtaining it without diminishing their overriding worldly wisdom and arrogance and submitting to him for the answer, and he would give it to them freely,

” . . for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelation 19:10

At the close of the age,  at the time of the end, we’re told in Revelation Chapter 9 these are the ones that will seek death but not be able to find it, desire to die, but death will flee from them.
